Homebrew Google

Instructions for a supported install of Homebrew are on the homepage.

This script installs Homebrew to its preferred prefix (/usr/localfor macOS Intel, /opt/homebrew for Apple Silicon) so thatyou don’t need sudo when youbrew install. It is a careful script; it can be run even if you have stuffinstalled in /usr/local already. It tells you exactly what it will do beforeit does it too. You have to confirm everything it will do before it starts.

macOS Requirements

This is a short and quick guide to install and configure Google Cloud SDK using Homebrew. If you are not using Homebrew to manage your packages, then you can follow the official guide to setup directly into Mac. Step 1: Prepare Homebrew If you don’t have Homebrew, then you need to install it first. Homebrew: a LitRPG Novel - Ebook written by Xavier P. • A 64-bit Intel CPU or Apple Silicon CPU 1
  • macOS Mojave (10.14) (or higher) 2
  • Command Line Tools (CLT) for Xcode: xcode-select --install,developer.apple.com/downloads orXcode3
  • A Bourne-compatible shell for installation (e.g. bash or zsh) 4

Git Remote Mirroring

You can set HOMEBREW_BREW_GIT_REMOTE and/or HOMEBREW_CORE_GIT_REMOTE in your shell environment to use geolocalized Git mirrors to speed up Homebrew’s installation with this script and, after installation, brew update.

The default Git remote will be used if the corresponding environment variable is unset.

Untar anywhere

Just extract (or git clone) Homebrew wherever you want. Just avoid:

  • Directories with names that contain spaces. Homebrew itself can handle spaces, but many build scripts cannot.
  • /tmp subdirectories because Homebrew gets upset.
  • /sw and /opt/local because build scripts get confused when Homebrew is there instead of Fink or MacPorts, respectively.

However do yourself a favour and install to /usr/local on macOS Intel, /opt/homebrew on macOS ARM,and /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew on Linux. Some things maynot build when installed elsewhere. One of the reasons Homebrew justworks relative to the competition is because we recommend installinghere. Pick another prefix at your peril!

Multiple installations

Create a Homebrew installation wherever you extract the tarball. Whichever brew command is called is where the packages will be installed. You can use this as you see fit, e.g. a system set of libs in /usr/local and tweaked formulae for development in ~/homebrew.

Uninstallation

Uninstallation is documented in the FAQ.

1 For 32-bit or PPC support seeTigerbrew.

2 10.14 or higher is recommended. 10.9–10.13 aresupported on a best-effort basis. For 10.4-10.6 seeTigerbrew.

The Homebrew Channel

The Homebrew Channel is a custom channel for the Wii created by Team Twiizers. This handy channel allows you to run unofficial programs for the Wii called homebrew.
Over the years, the Homebrew Channel has received many updates to keep it compatible with the Wii system updates and to add new features (like theme support).

Using the Homebrew channel is simple.
All you have to do is to put the files in the correct folders.
First make a folder called apps on your SD card / USB device. This is where all our apps will be placed.
Everyapp needs its own folder in the apps folder. And in that folder you canplace the dol/elf (the actual app). The Hombrew channel can only loaddol/elf files named boot.dol/elf
Examples: SD:/apps/cIOS_installer/boot.dol or USB:/apps/hackmii_installer/boot.elf
The homebrew channel will always look first on the SD card, and when nothing is found, it looks on the USB device.
There are two more files that can be in the same folder of the boot.dol/elf:
  • icon.png: an icon for your app. Size has to be 128x48
  • meta.xml: contains some info about the app

Extra optionsPressing the Home button will bring you to the menu screen of the HBC. You can do the following things here:
Return - Return to the list of apps
Info - Shows some info about the HBC
Launch BootMii - Launch BootMii IOS (Only works if you installed it)
Back to System menu - Brings you back to the System menu
Exit - Shut Down the Wii
Pressing the 1 Button in the Apps list will give you a Prompt where you can change the Sorting method (Alphabetical or By Date) and the location of the Apps (SD, USB or SDGecko).
Pressing the 2 Button in the Apps list will switch the HBC to GridMode, where you only see the icons of the apps in a Grid.

Since version 1.0.7, the HBC is now able to use Custom Themes!

Applying themes is very easy because it works the same as with normal applications. The only difference is that there has to be a theme.zip file instead of a boot.dol/elf file. All other elements remain the same (themes are placed in a separate folder under the apps folder).
Some themes can be found here.
